What’s the most challenging and important skill to learn as an entrepreneur?

The art of not getting distracted.

But first, you have to take some time to define what’s truly a distraction since most distractions have the illusion of being productive.

If you’re bootstrapping your business:

- Reading or obsessing about companies raising big funding rounds is a distraction.
- Doing busy work that you could delegate is a distraction.
- Spending too much time in meetings instead of letting your team execute is a distraction.

So how do you stay focused?

Here’s my Sunday routine. I pull up my calendar each week and look at every meeting on the schedule. I ask myself: “Will this push the business forward?” If not, it has to go.

The key is to keep doing this, even as your business expands and changes.

Investing 10 minutes a week to audit your calendar will save you hours of lost time.

You have to be in the game for a long time to see results as a bootstrapped founder, so pacing yourself is key. My Sunday audit keeps me focused on what matters.
